Aseer’s Commitment to Sustainability
The Aseer Development Authority (ASDA) has designed a comprehensive sustainability framework structured around four key pillars: Planet, Governance, Prosperity, and People. These pillars serve as the foundation for a long-term vision aimed at preserving the region’s natural environment, enhancing effectiveness, promoting economic opportunities, and strengthening social and cultural harmony.
As part of this vision, ASDA is working to develop a distinct and sustainable tourism model that aligns with global best practices. Strategic initiatives include:

These actions are not only designed to protect the diverse ecosystems of Aseer, but also to ensure that growth benefits local communities and future generations.
In line with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, ASDA has set ambitious targets for the tourism sector. These include attracting 9.1 million annual visits by 2030, generating 94,000 new jobs, and contributing approximately 26 billion Saudi Riyals to the national GDP through tourism-driven development.

Training to Aseer Development Authority
As part of its commitment to advancing sustainable tourism
practices in the region, the Aseer Development Authority (ASDA) will
soon launch a targeted training program designed to support hotels in aligning
with the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC) Criteria.
The training will include three intensive courses
scheduled throughout 2025, delivered by Nastadeem, the official GSTC
Training Partner in the Arab region. These sessions will offer practical
guidance and tailored support to help hotels understand the certification
requirements, implement sustainable practices, and contribute to the broader
vision of responsible tourism in Aseer.
